Meeting of Children’s Council Delegates with the President of KATI

KARACHI: (November 30, 2021) A delegation of the children’s council, comprising 20 students from various public schools of District Korangi, Karachi held a meeting with Mr. Salman Aslam, President Korangi Association of Trade & Industries (KATI) and its members on Tuesday at Aiwan-e-Sanat. The delegation advocated for promoting the well-being of children living in the industrial district.
Children broke their silence and drew the attention of the business community towards corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds utilization for the education and well-being of children, enrolled in public schools in the area and belonging to low-income families.
The representatives said large numbers of children enrolled in the public schools belong to poor and low-income families. Some of them even cannot afford to have uniforms, shoes, and books. “We are neglected by the government and other stakeholders”, they said.
A girl child Hooria from class eight apprised that some learners in their schools were orphans or living with their mothers who were unable to bear the educational expenses. If KATI provides them scholarships to get their education up to graduation, then it could be said that there was nothing best utilization of a company’s CSR funds than make a child a successful graduate.
President KATI Mr. Salman Aslam appreciated the communication and leadership children came to in the meeting. He said November is known as action month to promote children’s rights and improve their standard of living globally. KATI will facilitate children’s rights to education for developing their future.
